Taking on the CreekOur last breakout was at Sugar Creek Elementary with Ms. Cannon. We helped less with her class because we felt they had high abilities and it would be best to problem solve with their classmates more than they did with us. We set up in the robotics room and did our usual routine with this class. Also, for the first time we had a Question and Answer Session with the class. They asked many questions ranging to college to elementary memories. This was a great part into getting to know the class and having them know more about us too. We have three breakouts scheduled next week and are excited to finish the fourth graders at Sugar Creek. The classes are rescheduled for next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. This group was very competitive and wanted to win. We had the choice to give them "Sugar Creek Bucks" for the kids who were respectful and who showed great leadership. The kids were excited to talk to us and to ask us questions about our interests. #MoreThanTheBox Finishing NPELast week, we finished NPE and worked hard to finish the two target grade levels we had. We are hoping to finish our second project and be back at NPE soon. Right now we are working with the great teachers at Sugar Creek and are grateful for the time we had to work with the kids at elementary. Mrs. Polster was our last teacher to do and her class was very respectful...for the most part. The worst thing to happen to us was when a kid hid our keys from us and we could not find them. But, eventually we found them in different locations hidden around the room. We are looking forward to come back again and want to work to help out the kids more with a fun learning experience. This experience not only helped the kids, but helped us grow as people too. Disney DiscoveryOur group has chosen our next theme of Disney Discovery, where we are going to put in a variety of problems in that helps the students learn what they are learning currently with a Disney theme. We want to do this to get the children excited about learning with characters from the Disney classics in the clues. We feel like this will be engaging for the ages we are looking for and would be good for both the boys and girls.
